Regional contribution for the purchase of the wig - Local health authority reimbursement
In Italy, for some years now, the various Regions have taken steps to provide an economic contribution for the purchase of a wig for medical use in favor of their clients residing in the Region and suffering from alopecia areata and alopecia following chemotherapy treatment following a tumor pathology .
Each Region has taken action independently by establishing different requirements and methods for each territory. Below we will delve into the topic for the Triveneto regions closest to us.
Veneto Region Wig Contribution
The Veneto Region has approved the requirements, methods of access and provision of a financial contribution for the purchase of a wig in favor of assisted residents in Veneto suffering from alopecia areata or alopecia following subsequent chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy to tumor pathology.
Beneficiaries are those affected by alopecia areata or alopecia following chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy following a tumor pathology, in possession of the income exemption relating to one of the following codes: 6R2, 7R2, 7R3, 7R4, 7R5. These beneficiaries will be assigned a contribution equal to the expense actually incurred and in any case not exceeding €400.00, in full or reduced as a percentage if the overall amount is greater than the budget availability, with the exclusion of those assisted who have already benefited from said contribution in reference to the application submitted in the previous year. It is possible to submit a request for contribution to the Social and Health District of your residence, by January 15th of the year following the year in which the wig was purchased, using the specific and required forms.
