Chemotherapy often involves the hair loss: a condition experienced by many women as a trauma in the course of cancer treatment, especially with regard to their own femininity.

Today there are many associations that allow you to donate your hair to create wigs with natural hair.

At the media level, many VIPs have made their own efforts to publicize this wonderful gesture, but what takes a back seat is that today in Italy there are no longer any laboratories that work with hair and create wigs. The cost of labor in Italy and in Europe in general is very high and, as in almost all sectors, production has moved to Asian countries.

This long logistical path creates major difficulties in tracing the hair, processing it and making the wigs. Another concept to take into consideration is that virgin natural hair has an important commercial value, which complicates transparency and has created over time many realities that exploit the business even in donations.

We therefore advise those who decide to make this noble gesture to apply only to recognized associations that allow the punctual tracking of their good deed.

Many ask us for a reference in this regard but we (who have been working in the sector for over 40 years) are currently unable to recommend a referenced name to carry out this noble gesture.

Are you thinking of donating your hair and having a wig made? It's possible?
To create a wig we must first of all consider that in the manufacturing process there is an important "processing waste": our hair has very different lengths based on the point of the head where it is cut, for example on the sideburns and on the nape of the neck in most of cases are much shorter than in the rest of the head. Approximately 3-4 cm in length is used to create the knot that will secure the hair on the wig cap.
If you haven't guessed the answer to the question yet, to create a wig the donation of just one person is not enough but at least 2 or 3 donations are needed to create a wig made of real natural hair.
